About Dr. Milano
Not only did naturopathic medicine provide me with an actual diagnosis that explained what was happening to me, but I was given treatment that provided lasting and sustainable results
Co-Founder, Naturopathic Doctor
When I was quite young, I started experiencing symptoms I felt were not normal. I had severe cystic acne, my anxiety felt unmanageable, and I was in significant pain each month. I was told these symptoms would go away as I got older, but they never did. One day a friend referred me to her Naturopathic Doctor, and my outlook on health care was forever changed. Not only did naturopathic medicine provide me with an actual diagnosis that explained what was happening to me, but I was given treatment that provided lasting and sustainable results.
After completing my Honours degree in Psychology at Queen’s University, I decided to obtain my Doctor of Naturopathy Degree from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto. While at the College, I was selected among my peers to undergo additional training in Reproductive Health and Fertility, which only further confirmed my love of hormones. Through my clinical experience, I noticed hormone concerns were often accompanied by digestive complaints, which propelled me to focus on both hormonal and digestive health. I strongly believe that the gut is the foundation of health in the body.
I am continuously undergoing additional training in hormone health, digestive health, and fertility to ensure my patients are receiving the best care possible. I’ve successfully worked with many individuals struggling with PCOS, acne, endometriosis, unexplained infertility, menopause, premenstrual syndrome, birth control cessation, vaginal health, cervical dysplasia, weight loss resistance, thyroid concerns, and digestive complaints including SIBO and IBS.
I take an evidence-based, forward thinking approach with all of my patients, addressing both short and long term health goals. I highly emphasize the importance of lab testing and targeted treatment for each individual patient, so that we are truly uncovering the underlying cause and achieving lasting results. While my practice does have a focus on hormones and digestion, my door is open to anyone who is ready to make positive changes in their health.
