Providing realistic and customized support to help you take the guesswork out of managing fibromyalgia

How We Can Help

Living with fibromyalgia means facing daily challenges. You might be dealing with persistent pain, fatigue that doesn't go away, and a 'fibro fog' that clouds your thoughts. Activities that used to be simple can now feel overwhelming. We understand that each person's experience with fibromyalgia is unique, and it affects more than just your physical health.

At the Clara Clinic, we're dedicated to helping you manage these challenges. We provide personalized care that addresses not just the physical symptoms but also the emotional and psychological aspects of fibromyalgia. We believe in a holistic approach to health, empowering you to lead a more comfortable and fulfilling life

Our team is here to help you take the guesswork out of taking control of your Fibromyalgia, and provide you with a customized and realistic treatment plan.

What Causes Chronic Fatigue Anyway?

As anyone struggling with fibromyalgia knows, this is a unique condition because it can affect people in so many different ways. At its root, fibromyalgia is a chronic condition primarily known for causing widespread pain and tenderness in the muscles and soft tissues of the body because it involves an increased sensitivity to pain (meaning that even light pressure or touch can be painful).

If you’re suffering from fibromyalgia you may even experience pain without any direct physical stimulus, a phenomenon known as central allodynia. This pain is rarely confined to one area; it's a body-wide issue. Interestingly, the root of these pain-related symptoms lies not in the muscles themselves but in the central nervous system, which processes pain signals differently in those with fibromyalgia. Beyond pain, fibromyalgia often brings a host of other symptoms such as 'fibro fog,' which affects concentration and memory, chronic fatigue that doesn't improve with rest, disrupted sleep patterns, mood swings, and various digestive problems.

Symptoms of fibromyalgia can include:

  • Chronic pain

  • ‘Fibro fog’ which affects concentration and memory

  • Chronic fatigue that doesn’t improve with rest

  • Disrupted sleep patterns

  • Mood swings

  • Digestive problems

The combination of all of these potential symptoms make fibromyalgia a particularly challenging condition to fully identify and even more challenging to live with. Our first priority is to determine an accurate diagnosis so we can most directly address your symptoms, and provide timely and effective relief.

What to Expect

Wherever you are with your journey with Fibromyalgia, our team will take the time to hear you, meet you where you are at, and teach you how to feel ready and able to take control of your life again. Our ultimate goal is always to dig deeper and work with the underlying causes of fibromyalgia so that symptoms are corrected – not masked. We want you to feel in control of your health again, and begin to see your body as an ally and not the enemy anymore!

Our 5-Step Program for Fibromyalgia

Completing a full fibromyalgia and chronic pain reset - and staying symptom-free - can be challenging because of the multifaceted nature of the condition. Becoming symptom-free takes time, but once the healing process is underway, it is possible to enjoy work and home life once again! The ultimate goal of our program is to help you reclaim control of your life to live the way you want without unnecessary interruption from exhaustion and continual pain.

our 5 -step program

  1. Stress Management - A history of stress is often closely associated with fibromyalgia, and is almost always a recurring trigger, causing your body to become overtaxed and in need of relief. Reducing stress and finding balance is a critical step in overcoming the unending exhaustion and pain you feel.

  2. Detoxification - At the same time, we need to focus on finding and removing any barriers to optimal health you may have in your life. This typically begins in the gut, cleaning up digestion and regulating blood sugar. It will also be important to detoxify your external environment by removing allergens, toxins, and other irritants from your home.

  3. Comprehensive Investigation - While working on these ever-important first steps, we’ll also begin testing to investigate the existence of any conditions that are closely linked with fibromyalgia, such as IBS (irritable bowel syndrome). Determining if any other conditions exist will allow us to take large steps toward optimizing your health and ensuring there are no hidden impediments to cure that are hindering your progress.

  4. Targeted Treatment - Dietary recommendations, supplementation, and finding the right kinds of exercise are a few of the ways we’ll seek to address the symptoms you’re experiencing, as well as any associated conditions that we discover.

  5. Continued Support - Once we have managed your fibromyalgia symptoms, we will shift to a maintenance protocol meant to keep your symptoms at bay over the long term. We will continue to monitor your pain levels and work to set a new baseline for your vitality.

By the end of this protocol, we want you to walk away feeling empowered, and in control of your health.

You do not have to settle for constant pain and chronic exhaustion. If you’ve been struggling with fibromyalgia or chronic pain, we offer complimentary 15 minute consults with our chief Naturopathic Doctor focusing on Fibromyalgia, Dr. Mitchell Schroeder, ND.
